I like to
apply realism to 'portraits'. What constitutes
a portrait might be a
person, a pet, a simple fruit, an architectural landmark, a
beautiful place or vista -- even an object with an
unusual quality such as the patina of delicate Roman glass, having
survived wars and earthquakes (since BC!).
My subject has on a certain day, in a particular light,
made a connection so powerful and so exciting it compels me to
study it and to revisit the joy and privilege to be an artist,
each time I am reminded of its creation.

Thank you
for the wonderful job you did on Carol's painting. Tears rolled down her
cheeks as she gazed upon...the memories she will have for lifetime.... ---- M. Bednarik,
